Meet the Ladies Behind the Peaches

Nearly every September, something happens at Hires Big H that we look forward to all year: our peach sundaes come back. Fresh Brigham City peaches, cut by hand and layered with our creamy vanilla soft serve, topped with whipped cream. It's simple, it's seasonal, and honestly, it's one of our favorite things of the year.

This year, it's an even bigger deal than usual — and it starts with two women in Northern Utah.

The Tagges

Cari and Laci Tagge are the mother-daughter team that are part of Tagge's Famous Fruit, the family farm we team up with every year for this collaboration. Cari and her husband Thayne started the farm back in 1977 with a 27-acre orchard near Brigham City. Nearly five decades later, it's grown into 150 acres of some of the best peaches, blackberries, sweet corn, and produce in the state. Tagges is a name that's become synonymous with Brigham City peaches along the Wasatch Front.

Cari is the heart of the operation — warm, bubbly, and the kind of person who makes you feel like family the second you meet her. Her daughter Laci grew up in the orchards and has helped carry the business forward as it's grown, bringing a sharp business sense and a genuine, hard-working spirit to everything the farm does. Together, they've built something special, and we're thrilled to team up with them.

Why This Year Is Different

In spring of 2026, a hard freeze swept through northern Utah and hit the Tagges' orchards hard, wiping out the majority of this year's peach crop. It's the kind of loss most of us never think about when we bite into a peach — but for farming families like the Tagges, a late freeze can undo an entire season's work in a single night.

Rather than skip the season, Cari and Laci are supplementing what survived on their own trees with peaches sourced through their network, so we can still bring you the fresh peach sundaes you look forward to. Because the supply is limited this year, we're only running this collaboration for two weeks instead of our usual month-long stretch.

To make it even more meaningful: we didn't do this collaboration at all last year, since we were busy moving our commissary and opening our new Daybreak location. So this September marks the return of a Hires Big H tradition after a year off — and given everything the Tagges have been through to make it happen, we don't want anyone to miss it, and we'd love to show the Tagges as much support as we can!

Get Them While You Can

Fresh Peach Sundaes are available September 1–15, 2026 only.

Fresh Tagge's peaches, cut by hand, layered with our vanilla soft serve, and topped with whipped cream. Stop by any Hires Big H location during these two weeks — once they're gone, they're gone until next year.

Thank you, Cari and Laci, and the whole Tagge family for everything you do to keep local peaches going in Utah, as well as our favorite collaboration of the year. We're grateful to grow this tradition with you.
